I've been wearing my sperry ventus boat shoes for just over a year now. I'm a US Merchant Mariner and spend quite a bit of time on wet decks. These shoes are comfortable for everyday wear and offer excellent traction. The tread is lasting longer than I thought possible and although the shoes are showing signs of wear at the bend of the toe, they are still in very good condition all things considered.

I want the best wet traction possible when I'm climbing from a tug in 8ft. seas onto a ladder and 30' up the side of a ship. These shoes give me that.

4 stars instead of 5 simply because of the wear at the bend of the toe on both shoes. It's only on the outer material and isn't important to comfort or use, simply cosmetic. If there was a 4.5 star option, I'd choose that.
