Meets ASTM Class 75 standards for safety toes, metatarsal guards and electrical hazard protection. Inspired by the Michelin Pilot Exalto tire tread, this multi-density outsole is naturally resistant to oil, chemicals, heat and abrasion providing the maximum amount of durability and slip resistance. Tread designs are engineered to utilize the same traction properties as used in high performance MICHELIN tires. Leather upper and shock absorbent midsole. Custom Orthoframe footbed.

I have one of these pair, and 6 of the Michelin Sledge model with the external metguard.

The Michelin Sledge is the best boot I've EVER owned. See my reviews of them. I've never been able to wear out a Michelin boot in 7 years. the Sledge is very comfortable from day one and does not squeek.

The shoe is built like a tank, but the internal metguard is the most uncomfortable Michelin I've had. It is very stiff and never seems to break in. When I had to squat on my toes it really hurt the top of my foot. This model squeeks/quacks kind of like a duck when you walk i guess because of the special insole so you can change it, but in a noisy environment the squeek can't be heard and I don't care if it is.

It was required for use with pedal operated machines in a steel plant, otherwise I would have stuck with the Sledge model.
