This sandal is a foot bed is kind of hard but has the contours and arc support of the foot. The initial use of this sandal feels comfortable, but after prolonged use it hurts the foot. This only last about a week until your foot get used to the ergonomic contours. My cork bed has kind of molded and become a bit softer (not to much) to my foot and is probably one of the most comfortable sandals I have used. I didn't give it the 5 stars because of the initial pain you get the first week. If you buy them, just hold on and remember "no pain, no gain"

P.S. i rarely wear sneakers or shoes. I'm ALWAYS in sandals.
