I like to go out in the winter shooting jackrabbits (Oh no! sorry I love my guns...) Anyways, around here the best times to go out are when there is a lot of snow on the ground in fresh powder form. For those who do not know, powder is very tiring to run through (running is a very often occurrence on these trips since the jackrabbits are fast and if you don't get on the move fast you may not get a good shot.) These are light way and make the powder running much easier... especially since we tend to cover about 6-7 miles while out doing this. The days we went last winter were also 0 and even below 0 degree days and the boots were light, yet very warm and breathable out there on the move... So you say cross trainers at the gym, I say snowtrips on the chase...
